Pascal: the evolution of accounts
Smarter accounts, stronger foundations
Pascal went live on BSC mainnet, delivering five BEPs including EIP-7702, advancing account capabilities, EVM compatibility, and protocol-level data handling.
How it happened
This upgrade included protocol changes such as a BLS12-381 precompile, read access to historical block hash state, EOA account code, block format compatibility, and calldata gas cost adjustments. Official documentation records that the mainnet completed the upgrade on 20 March 2025.
What it changed
Mainnet gained account and execution capabilities closer to modern Ethereum standards, providing a foundation for smart contract wallets, cryptographic applications, and subsequent development, while improving cross-client compatibility.
