Beacon Chain completes shutdown
One ecosystem, a simpler foundation
After Fusion, BNB Chain shut down Beacon Chain validator nodes. The beacon chain ceased to operate as a live network; subsequent arrangements preserved historical data access and asset recovery procedures.
How it happened
The project initially planned a final Sunset fork for 19 November 2024. The Fusion timeline listed 3 December 2024 as the Post Fusion stage, and documentation confirms that the Beacon Chain was shut down on that day after block 385,251,927. The planned date should not be conflated with the actual exit date.
What it changed
Cross-chain communication between Beacon Chain and BSC stopped entirely; the old chain no longer processed new transactions. Historical data remained queryable, and eligible assets could be migrated under the official recovery processes. This entry records historical arrangements and is not guidance for current asset operations.
