BNB mainnet swap completed
The native migration
Binance announced the BNB mainnet swap had been completed and deposits/withdrawals opened. ERC-20 BNB deposited to the exchange would be automatically converted to Binance Chain mainnet BNB per the announcement.
How it happened
The 18 April announcement had scheduled public access and the BNB swap to open on 23 April. Subsequent communications documented the completion of the exchange-side migration and the formal opening of new deposit and withdrawal pathways.
What it changed
Completion of the swap transitioned BNB used by exchanges to the Binance Chain native asset. BNB moved from an Ethereum token form to a native chain asset, and user addresses and operational paths changed accordingly.
